More Poles settle for pre-retirement benefits

Over 152,000 Poles, a record-high number, were drawing pre-retirement benefits in November 2013, up by 30,000 compared to January 2013, the daily Gazeta Wyborcza reports.
The total monthly cost of pre-retirement benefits amount to PLN 156 million, the daily wrote.
The benefit is paid out to persons in pre-retirement age who lost their job as a result of employer's bankruptcy or group layoffs and helps lower unemployment statistics, the daily wrote.
