Every fifth Pole would give life for country - poll
February 12, 2014
Only 19% of Poles said they would be ready to sacrifice their health and lives for the country, while 41% said they would sacrifice nothing, a Homo Homini poll for Rzeczpospolita daily showed.
The poor result stems from the fact that Poles believe that the country and politicians do nothing for them, political scientist Kazimierz Kik said.
A number of young Poles are forced to emigrate to make a living and therefore are not willing to devote themselves to the country, Kik added.
