February 17, 2014
Poland's January consumer prices were flat at 0.7% year on year and up by 0.1% month on month versus consensus expectations for 0.9% y/y growth, Central Statistical Office (GUS) said in a statement.
Poland's consumer inflation index is expected to measure 0.8% y/y in February, the Economy Ministry said in a comment to January CPI data.
In February prices will likely increase at a pace similar to the one recorded in January, but food price growth is expected to slow down, the ministry's economists say.
Transport prices are seen edging up.
