A new exhibition at the Museum of Hunting and Horsemanship in Warsaw retraces the travels of the legendary Polish explorer and novel writer Arkady Fiedler.

The exhibition, entitled In Arkady Fiedler’s Footsteps, is an account of a sentimental trip taken by Fiedler’s son Marek. In 2009, he embarked on a tour of a number of remote and exotic places to which his father had traveled in the 1970s and later described in his books. On show are contemporary and historical photographs from expeditions to the ruins of Inca cities, images of landscapes from Peru and the mysterious geoglyphs—designs made by moving stones or earth—from the Nazca plateau in the south of the country. The exhibition also displays ornaments, everyday objects, clothes and vintage hunting and horse riding accessories.
