Poland's economy is capable of growing at a pace of 4% annually in the coming several years, central bank NBP President Marek Belka said in an interview for the Wall Street Journal.

"I think that we are capable of growing at 4% for a few years and that would be really good," Belka said.

Belka said he would like Poland’s GDP growth to reach 4% in the last quarter of 2014, but it may be very challenging.

"I wish growth would reach 4% annually in the last quarter of this year, but am not sure whether this will happen," he said.

The interview was published ahead of the publication of Poland's Q4 flash GDP reading which amounted to 2.7% y/y.
