Mas這wska for Children
June 3, 2014
Article's tools:

A play for young audiences by brilliant young Polish novelist and playwright Dorota Mas這wska has opened at the Studio Theater.

Mas這wska, who has a reputation as a caustic critic of the bad, the ugly and the stupid in contemporary Poland, wrote Jak zosta豉m wied幟 (How I Became a Witch) especially for the Studio Theater. The play is directed by Agnieszka Gli雟ka, the theater’s artistic director. Polish rock veteran Wojciech Waglewski wrote the music and performs it live with his Voo Voo band during performances of the play.

Jak zosta豉m wied幟 offers a universal and up-to-date story about the struggle of good against evil, showing a world of adults who are engaged in a never-ending pursuit of success and consumer goods. Always in a hurry, the adults forget about the need to build good relations with their children. Left to their own devices, the kids start drifting away into a world of virtual emotions.

Upcoming performances: June 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6, 6 p.m.
Studio Theater; Palace of Culture and Science, 1 Defilad Sq.
