British indie rock band Razorlight is headlining this year’s Wianki nad Wisł± (Wreaths on the Vistula) festival, a free and hugely popular open-air event in Warsaw marking the start of summer June 21. The festival will also feature Polish bands Hey, Dżem and Ł±ki Łan.

Hailing from London, Razorlight will be playing in Poland 10 years after the release of their debut album Up All Night on June 28, 2004. The album catapulted them to fame. Razorlight soon embarked on a promotional tour and in 2005 they supported Oasis. They have since released two more albums, the eponymous Razorlight and Slipway Fires.

Razorlight spawned the hit singles “In the Morning,” which peaked at number three on the UK Singles Chart, “Somewhere Else,” which went to number two, and the chart-topper “America.”

Several years ago, Razorlight took part in the Live8 charity concert that Bob Geldof organized in London’s Hyde Park.

The band’s Warsaw concert will be Razorlight’s second time in Poland after a gig at the Orange Warsaw Festival in 2009.
