The Warsaw Stock Exchange operator GPW wants to establish a rating agency which will evaluate bond issuers and papers traded on the corporate bond market Catalyst in order to diminish investors' risk, GPW CEO Adam Maciejewski said in an interview for Gazeta Wyborcza daily.

GPW intends to set up such rating agency as fast as possible, perhaps even this year, Maciejewski said.

Polish mid-size private companies wanting to issue bonds would benefit the most from establishing such a national rating agency, financial market regulator KNF head Andrzej Jakubiak said.

Free ratings would increase market's transparency and would help to attract the best companies but all depends on how such a system would be devised, analysts commented for Parkiet daily.
