Poland plans to finance textbooks and educational tools for all primary school and gymnasium pupils starting 2017, Education Minister Joanna Kluzik-Rostkowska said on Wednesday.

Financing of textbooks by the state will be introduced gradually starting September 2014, Rzeczpospolita daily said citing its own findings.

The elementary textbook for first grade pupils will be based on an already existing book for Polish pupils abroad, Gazeta Wyborcza daily writes citing a teachers' weekly Glos Nauczycielski. This would add credibility to the declarations of Education Ministry that the textbook would be ready in May.
