Poland’s top lender PKO BP's leasing unit opened its branch in Sweden under the name of PKO Leasing Sverige in order to provide financial services to its Polish client, bus producer Solaris, which intended to participate in a tender in Sweden.

At the beginning PKO Leasing will concentrate on contract servicing for Solaris, but in the future it may also start running regular leasing services in Sweden, PKO Leasing CEO told Puls Biznesu daily.

PKO BP is currently mulling opening its branches in other countries based on the model applied in Sweden in order to serve its clients active on foreign markets, PKO BP CEO Zbigniew Jagiello says.

PKO BP intends to use the model in order to "learn" foreign markets in case an acquisition opportunity cropped up in the future, Jagiello said.
