Turning Science into Business Success

An international conference in the southern Polish city of Katowice Sept. 22-23 will focus on skills that are crucial for scientists who want to be translate research achievements into commercial success.
The conference, entitled “Leveraging European Business Science,” will be held at the Scientific Information Center and Academic Library in Katowice.
The conference will focus on key skills such as planning and conducting quality research and reporting on such research in respected international journals.
Taking part in the conference will be researchers involved in business projects from the four Visegrad countries—Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia— as well as invited experts from countries including Britain and Finland. Young scientists will have the opportunity to take part in professional workshops that will help them improve skills such as academic writing in English, using scientific databases and networking in the academic world.
The conference is sponsored by the International Visegrad Fund. The main organizer is the University of Economics in Katowice.
