Poland to choose supplier of military helicopters
February 27, 2014
The Polish army is to choose a supplier for 70 helicopters at a cost of 8 billion zlotys, Poland’s deputy defence minister Robert Kupiecki said on Wednesday.
Among possible suppliers are Airbus Helicopters, Sikorsky of the United Technologies Corporation, and Augusta Westland, a unit of Finmeccanica, an Italian defence group.
Poland had planned to spend nearly 140 billion zlotys on defense in the next few years, before an economic slowdown caused it to lower its military budget.
