Holding company Metelem, owner of Polish mobile operator Polkomtel, eked out a 3% increase in 2013 EBITDA earnings to PLN 2.86 billion.

This is despite a 6% decline in revenues which hit PLN 6.68 billion, media group Cyfrowy Polsat said in a presentation on Q4 results.

The trends visible in FY results were also reflected in Q4, with last-quarter EBITDA edging up 1% y/y to PLN 625 million even as revenues fell 7% to PLN 1.65 billion.

The revenue decline in 2013 was attributed mainly to the decline in mobile termination rates (MTR), Polkomtel said in a press statement. Without the MTR cut, revenues would have increased by 2.5% y/y, the firm stated.
