Laugh till you cry at Capitol Theater
March 5, 2014
A sequel to the hugely successful comedy Klimakterium... i już (Menopause... End of Story) is being staged at Warsaw’s Capitol Theater this March.
Directed by Krzysztof Jaślar and Elżbieta Jodłowska, the play depicts the funny side of menopause and proves that rather than the end of the world, it can be the beginning of a new life. Performed 2,000 times and seen by 800,000 people, audiences begged writer and director Elżbieta Jodłowska for a sequel. Klimakterium 2 czyli Menopauzy Szał (Menopause 2: Menopausal Frenzy) is now ready to be staged.
Pamela, out of work in Part One but now employed, is still trying to lose weight. She and her pal Zosia, a resourceful housewife, visit mutual friend Malina on her birthday. Malina has just opened a new pub. Krycha, the fourth character from the original play, fails to reappear, but Angela, Malina’s chatty business partner, completes the ensemble. It’s been a long time since their last meeting and there is a lot to talk about. The party begins and things get loud and funny very quickly.
The play features catchy new songs with witty lyrics and elaborate choreography. The audience can step back and see themselves and others in the characters—and laugh until they cry.
Upcoming performances: March 8, 14, 23, 29 and 31
