Conference for Developers

Where are Polish cities headed in the new century? Experts will tackle this question and more during a conference on residential construction billed as Developer Days (Kongres Mieszkaniowy – Dni Dewelopera) in the southwestern city of Wroc³aw Oct. 7-8.
The conference will focus on issues including the prospects and development of the construction market as well as problems related to financing infrastructure for residential construction. Conference participants will also discuss the availability of co-financing for those buying real estate and challenges faced by developers and apartment buyers. Other key topics will include plans to amend construction regulations in Poland as well as the need to reduce administrative barriers encountered by developers and other construction market players. Moreover, conference participants will examine the market for apartment rental and ponder ways to increase the availability of mortgage loans. The conference will be attended by officials including former Prime Minister Jan Krzysztof Bielecki, representing the government, and Secretary of State Olgierd Dziekoński, representing the president. Taking part in the discussion will be financial market experts, including Ryszard Petru, chairman of the Association of Polish Economists, as well as developers, architects, analysts, bankers and journalists.Ideas and conclusions worked out during the debates on the first day of the conference will subsequently be debated by those taking part in panel discussions on the second day of the event.
The main organizer of the conference is the Polish Association of Developers and the co-organizers are the Polish central bank (NBP), Zachodnia Izba Gospodarcza chamber of commerce, and the Hala Stulecia (Centennial Hall) venue.Accompanying the conference will be a general meeting of members of the European Union of Developers and House Builders (UEPC), an organization that brings together more than 30,000 developers from throughout Europe.
