Alior & BZ WBK banks join CECE index
March 7, 2014
Listed banks Alior and BZ WBK will join Vienna Stock Exchange (VSE) CECE index, while fuel group Lotos will be removed, Wood & Co. analysts wrote on Thursday.
"Polish banks, Alior and BZ WBK, will join the index effective as of 24 March and will represent 1.5% and 5.6% of the index, respectively," the note reads. "Lotos, which had a weight of 1.3%, will be excluded from the index."
"The changes could spark some additional interest in the shares of Alior and BZ WBK, while Lotos may come under pressure," the analysts said.
Other changes in Poland include the adjustment of Eurocash’s number of shares, but the change does not affect its weight, Wood & Co. wrote.
As a result of reshuffling, Poland’s weight will decline by 1.1 pps, while Hungary’s will increase by 0.9 pps.
