Work by Polish painter Maria Waliszewska-Bendek is on show at Warsaw’s Earth Museum in an exhibition entitled Landscapes That Come Back.

One of the exhibition’s two sections comprises pieces that Waliszewska-Bendek painted in 1990-92 for an exhibition at the Nowy Theater in Poznań, organized to mark the opening of a production of William Shakespeare’s King Lear. The other section features landscapes, which are one of the artist’s favorite themes. Waliszewska-Bendek took a break from landscape painting for several years and the exhibition marks her return to the subject.

Waliszewska-Bendek, who pursues easel and pastel painting, graduated from the Fine Arts Academy in Warsaw in 1976, obtaining a degree at the faculty of painting.

Since 1975, she has had her work exhibited at more than 30 individual exhibitions in Poland and abroad and has also taken part in many collective exhibitions.
