The andel’s £ód¼ hotel, housed in a former 19th-century factory in the central city of £ód¼, turned five in September.

When it opened in 2009, andel’s was the first four-star hotel in £ód¼, and made its mark on the cityscape with a combination of modern design and historic industrial architecture. The building in which it is housed dates back to 1878 and was originally a spinning mill owned by a local industrialist named Izrael Poznański. The facility stood abandoned for many years before it was converted into the present-day hotel.

The andel’s £ód¼ hotel was developed by Warimpex Finanz- und Beteiligungs AG, an investment company and developer based in Vienna and listed on the stock exchanges in Vienna and Warsaw, in a joint project with Vienna International Hotelmanagement AG, the developer and manager of 38 high-end hotels and resorts and another two hotel projects.

andel’s £ód¼ is owned by Warimpex. Franz Jurkowitsch, the CEO of Warimpex, says he considers the hotel one of the best such projects in his company’s history. “After so many efforts to breathe new life into the building while preserving its original character, I am proud to see how well this award-winning hotel has been received by guests and by £ód¼ residents,” said Jurkowitsch. Since opening, the hotel has welcomed 200,000 guests from across the world, including international celebrities such as Sting, Shakira, Rihanna, Justin Bieber, Placido Domingo and rock group Depeche Mode. It has also hosted over 4,100 conferences and other events.

The hotel has 278 rooms and suites and has seven adjustable conference rooms with a total area of 3,100 square meters. The hotel is also home to the largest ballroom in £ód¼, which is 1,300 sq m in size and located on the roof.
