Archbishop Stanisław Gadecki chosen to lead Polish Church

Archbishop Stanislaw Gadecki of Poznan was elected as a new head of the Polish Episcopate as outgoing leader Archbishop Jozef Michalik has now served a maximum of two five-year terms.
Archbishop Gadecki won in the second round of voting by secret ballot. According to the statue he had to receive at least 50 percent backing of the bishops entitled to vote.
The new leader of Polish church named youth, family and vocation as his priorities in the new position.
