Poland's traditional press sales will likely continue to decline in the coming years after a very tough 2013, ZenithOptimedia and OMD media houses said.

2013 was an exceptionally difficult year with copy sales sliding at a double digit rate both in the case of dailies and magazines, ZenithOptimedia analyst Mateusz Kaplan told PAP Polish news agency. The sales will drop further and, while the declines "may not be as dramatic as over the past year, they will still be clear," he said.

OMD analyst Piotr Potulski thinks 2014 copy sales declines may be even comparable to those recorded last year. Dailies sales are undermined by the competition of free news available online, he said.
