Gramatik, a Brooklyn-based producer, DJ, songwriter and musician, will give a concert Nov. 15 at Warsaw’s 1500m2 club.

Born Denis Jasarevic in Slovenia in 1984, Gramatik, whose music can be described as a mixture of hip-hop, glitch, electro and dubstep, is coming to promote his latest album, Leave Your Mark.

His love of music began when he was only three and his mother would catch him listening to American funk, jazz, soul and blues from his older sister’s cassette tapes. As he got older, he was entranced by hip-hop culture and listened to the likes of DJ Premier, Guru, Rza and Dr. Dre. By the time he was 13, Jasarevic had already started producing his first hip-hop beats on a PC. He later began sharing his tracks through the online music store Beatport, which helped him create a following throughout the United States and Europe. The Beatport label was Jasarevic’s gateway to emerging as an electronic artist. He moved to New York and released his first album of pure hip-hop beats in 2008. It stayed on the Top 100 Chill Out charts for six months.

At a time when most recording artists were desperate to continue cashing in on album sales, Gramatik became one of the first acts to share his music completely for free and make his entire discography available to the public. He hit the bull’s-eye, as his fans were happy to share with hundreds of others, ensuring that his concerts draw thousands.
