Ruling PO enjoys 25pct EP elections support, 2pps behind rival PiS - poll

Poland's governing party Civic Platform (PO) has cut its voter support gap to the major opposition party Law and Justice (PiS) in the upcoming elections to the European Parliament to only two percentage points, increasing its backing to 25% in March from 19% in February, a survey by pollster TNS Polska showed.

The European Parliament election will be held on May 25, 2014.

The opposition PiS lost 2 pps in voter support and now enjoys 27% backing.

The two biggest parties are followed by left-wing Democratic Left Alliance (SLD) with 9% support (flat m/m), junior coalition partner Polish People’s Party (PSL) with 5% (down 1 ppt) and left-wing party Your Movement with 5% support (flat), the survey showed.
