Watch Producers Pick Warsaw

Two prestigious watch producers have opened flagship stores in Warsaw.

Omega—James Bond’s favorite watch brand—opened its first Polish store Sept. 24 at 16a Trzech Krzyży Sq. in the city center. This is Omega’s only company store in Eastern Europe. Omega CEO Stephen Urquhart said that with its rich history, culture and rapidly growing market, Warsaw is a perfect location for a new flagship store.

The latter occupies 200 square meters on two floors in a townhouse dating from before World War II. The actual store with a large collection of watches, leather accessories and Omega jewelry is located on the ground floor, while the first floor houses a room for product presentations.

Earlier in September, SwatchGroup, the world’s largest producer and distributor of watches, opened an HourPassion store on Warsaw’s Marszałkowska Street with brands such as Longines, Rado, Tissot, Certina, Calvin Klein Watch and Jewelry, Swatch and Flik-Flak. The 200-sq-m HourPassion store is the third in Poland. The others are in Poznań and ŁódĽ. Located on one of Warsaw’s best known thoroughfares, this concept store has been designed to match the vibrant shopping street. Visitors are welcomed by an exhibition of the latest watch models and the main entrance is topped by a huge LED display introducing buyers to the brands available inside.

The Marszałkowska Street store will host exhibitions and presentations of various brands, allowing visitors to learn more about timepieces and their history. Meanwhile, fans will be able to see celebrities who advertise various watch brands attending special events.

The new store in Warsaw is one of 56 HourPassion stores around the world.
