Chemicals group Police, a unit of fertilizer maker Grupa Azoty, plans to increase mining of phosphorites in Senegal and mulls investing in the development of chemical industry in the country, Grupa Azoty CEO Pawel Jarczewski told reporters on Tuesday.
"We are interested in further increase of extraction of minerals in Senegal," Jarczewski said. "We are also discussing the possibilities of developing industrial installations on the African continent."
The Polish firm is also preparing a special offer for the Senegalese government in terms of research support for the country's agriculture sector, Jarczewski said.
Police would also like to invest in the production of sulphuric acid for imports to Senegal, Police CEO Krzysztof Jalosinski said.
