British vocalist Lisa Stansfield is coming to Warsaw for a concert promoting Seven, her comeback album. The singer will perform new songs along with her greatest hits Nov. 3 at the Torwar Arena.

Ever since her big break 25 years ago, Stansfield has sold over 20 million albums that spawned at least 10 global hits such as “All Around the World,” “Change” and “All Woman.” In the late 1980s and early ‘90s, Stansfield was hailed as one of the most remarkable pop singers in the world. Her seductive vocals combined with timeless tunes and clever arrangements sent her singles soaring high in the charts on both sides of the Atlantic. In her heyday, Stansfield sang with George Michael and Queen and one of her songs was used in the soundtrack to the box-office smash Bodyguard starring Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner.

Four of Stansfield’s albums were international successes, but despite this enormous popularity, Stansfield chose to keep a low profile and record the kind of music she felt most comfortable with. She temporarily abandoned singing in order to pursue an acting career. In 2004, she returned to the recording studio to release her sixth studio album, entitled The Moment. The album got favorable reviews and critics praised Stansfield for developing as an artist and experimenting with a new sound. After the album, Stansfield stepped out of the limelight for several years again and did not return to showbusiness until last year. Early this year, she released the Seven album, featuring soul tracks she recorded with husband Ian Devaney. Soon after, Stansfield embarked on a tour of Britain together with the original musicians from her former band. The tour has gone international and Stansfield will perform in Warsaw Nov. 3.
