Nov. 20, 11.30 a.m.: Unveiling of Polish-Belgian Mural

After the success of last year’s mural in Poznań, the BBC has decided this time to invite another talented Belgian artist to Warsaw. This year’s mural will be created by Noir-Artist. As his name suggests, he uses only shades of black in his works and the concept he has prepared for the Belgian Days stays true to his characteristic style. To mark the co-operation between Poland and Belgium the Artist will create a special visualisation. You will be able to see the final result during the unveiling of the mural.

The BBC, together with the Center for Contemporary Art, is organizing a special curator’s tour of the Reel-Unreel exhibition, the first individual presentation in Poland of the work of Belgian artist Francis Alys. During this dedicated tour, the curator will give you an insight into the artist and his work. Due to the limited number of participants possible, registration will be confirmed on a first-come, first-served basis.

During the beer workshops, our guests will have the opportunity to learn more about the traditions of Belgian beer and its perfect food accompaniment. During the chocolate workshops, participants will get to know the secrets of chocolate history and its production.

Nov. 28, 12.00-2.30 p.m. (CEO Forum)—Belgian Business Chamber Award: Best Belgian Company in Poland in 2014

The Belgian Business Chamber Award is an award that for the past five years has recognized the efforts of individuals and companies that support and promote Belgian-Polish relations. This year, for the first time, the board of the BBC will present the BBC Award to the best Belgian company in Poland.
Former winners of the award include Bronisław Komorowski, Clotilde Simonis-Górska (Lataj±ca Galeria), the Belgian Embassy and Representatives of the Regions, Ghelamco Poland and Lhoist Polska.

Belgian maestro Herman Engels will conduct a special concert by the Polish Radio Orchestra. The event will take place as part of a series of concerts entitled “Big Music in a Small Hall.”

Not many people are aware of the complexity and specificity of Belgian-Polish relations and cultural connections, and the similarities and differences between the two countries. Interestingly, traces of these connections can be found in Warsaw.

Nov. 29, 3 p.m.: Announcement of the Results of the “Belgian Comic Book Heroes in Warsaw” Art Contest

The aim of the art contest is to enhance knowledge of Belgian culture. It is open to primary school pupils. The best works will be recognized with awards on 29th November at the Katarzyna Napiórkowska Art Gallery in Warsaw. You will be able to see the works made by these young artist and congratulate them in person.
The exhibition will be open to the public between 28th and 30th November 2014.
