Two new exhibitions have opened at Warsaw’s Museum of Caricature and Cartoon Art.

One comprises a selection of around 100 drawings sent in for the 16th International Open Satirical Cartoon Competition, whose theme this year was celebrities. Work was submitted for the competition by cartoonists from around the world, including Belgium, the Czech Republic, Brazil, Bulgaria, France, Canada and Israel. The featured drawings demonstrate the wide variety of takes that satirists in different countries have on fame and on being a celebrity. With their tongues firmly in their cheeks, the cartoonists approach the subject with a lot of humor and sometimes piquancy.

Another 100 drawings are on show in an exhibition showcasing the best 20th- and 21st-century cartoonists and caricaturists from Bulgaria. The Warsaw Museum of Caricature and Cartoon Art has organized this exhibition together with the Humor and Satire Center in Gabrovo, Bulgaria.
