Tauron to build energy block in Tychy by 2016

Power group Tauron will construct PLN 618 million energy block of 50 MWe and 86 MWt in Tychy in the southern region of Lower Silesia by 2016, the company said during groundbreaking ceremony attended by PM Donald Tusk.
The construction of the block makes the second stage of a project, within which coal-fired boiler was transformed into a biomass-burning unit. The cost of the whole project amounts to PLN 782 million.
"Tauron plans to spend more than PLN 4 billion on investment in 2014," CEO Dariusz Lubera said.
Tauron intends to spend PLN 44 billion on investments by 2020 and plans to construct 3200 MW new capacities in various technologies.
