The Snow Queen

A new, lavish production of The Snow Queen for both adult and child audiences has opened at Warsaw’s Narodowy Theater.

Directed by Piotr Cieplak with sets by Andrzej Witkowski, this new version introduces viewers to Hans Christian Andersen’s classic story of a little girl who travels the world trying to save her friend. As she visits different corners of a fantasy land, the trip teaches her how to love and live. Moving from one realm to another, she crosses over into adult life from the lost paradise of childhood.

Employing hundreds of costumes and ever-changing backdrops, The Snow Queen at the Narodowy opens up viewers’ imagination to the magic of theater. The experience is further enhanced by the score written by Jan Duszyński. The cast includes Dominika KluĽniak, Zbigniew Zamachowski and Tomasz Sapryk.

Upcoming performances: Jan. 17, 18, 20 and 21, 7 p.m.
Narodowy Theater, Bogusławskiego Hall; 3 Teatralny Sq.
