A host of central and local government officials together with a crowd of businessmen are expected to flock to the north-central city of Toruń March 2-3 for the city’s 22nd annual economic conference, which will be held under the new name of Welconomy Forum this year.

The conference provides opportunities for officials and businessmen to establish new contacts, make some important declarations, and come forward with new initiatives.

The conference fosters debate between economists and business practitioners, and it also enables businesses to showcase their products and services as well as to seek new business opportunities.

This year’s Welconomy Forum will focus on the economy, social issues and politics. Participants will discuss ways to boost the free market economy and will also talk about ways of overcoming economic obstacles. Forum participants will discuss innovation in the Polish economy and ways to remove barriers that hinder innovation. Key barriers include high research costs and the business community’s reluctance to take risks related to new technology.

The conference is held by the Integracja i Współpraca (Integration and Cooperation) Association.
