Poland’s promo spot serves ruling party interests - daily
April 24, 2014
Poland's government spent gross PLN 7 million on a televised spot promoting Poland's tenth anniversary of EU membership, of which 85% was subsidized by the European Union.
The film highlights the transformation in the country since the collapse of communism, to the soundtrack of Beatles hit 'Hey Jude'.
After the spot was unveiled by Prime Minister Donald Tusk during a press conference on Tuesday the daily Rzeczpospolita wrote that
it fits in very well with the European election campaign of the ruling party Civic Platform (PO).
However, the head of PO's election campaign Tadeusz Zwiefka denies that the spot promotes the party and claims it has no relation to the ongoing campaign.
