Empik bookstore chain reportedly for sale
April 25, 2014
Private equity fund Eastbridge might be preparing to sell the Empik bookstore chain, flagship asset of its unit, retailer NFI Empik M&F, as well as other assets, the daily Puls Biznesu wrote citing three sources from the industry and the banking sector.
Empik reportedly already put up for sale its language school unit and hired investment bank Rothschild as advisor for the transaction potentially worth PLN 300-350 million, the daily wrote.
Empik bookstore chain will likely be purchased by an investor interested in the retail space Empik is leasing in shopping malls rather than the bookstore and press business, the daily wrote.
