PKP Cargo signs PLN 1bn deal with ArcelorMittal

PKP Cargo the EU’s second largest cargo rail carrier, signed annexes extending the agreement for transportation services with Poland’s largest steel producers ArcelorMittal by three years to end-June 2017 with the value of the deal in the period estimated at PLN 1.01 billion, the company said in a market filing.
PKP Cargo is to transport a minimum of 11 metric tons annually, including materials such as coking coal, lignite, lime as well as other metals and chemicals for three subsidiaries of the ArcelorMittal group, including ArcelorMittal Poland, ArcelorMittal Warszawa and Czech-based ArcelorMittal Ostrava.
PKP Cargo recorded some PLN 221 million in net revenues from realization of contracts with ArcelorMittal since the date of its stock market debut, i.e. October 28, 2013, the filing added.
