Poland is recording declining childbirths in every region, a report of Lodz University demographers showed.

In order to prevent depopulation an average family should have at least two children, while at present it is an average of 1.3.

The lowest birth rate is in the Opolskie region, where an average family has 1.1-1.29 children.

According to Eurostat, the number of Poles is likely to decline to 33 million in 2060 from the current 38 million.
