The Polish government will likely launch a PLN 4 billion tender for 32 attack helicopters shortly after it selects the supplier for multi-purpose helicopters, daily Rzeczpospolita reported.

The tender was supposed to be launched at the end of the current decade, but situation behind Poland's eastern borders made Poland alter its plans for modernizing the army.

The government expects the potential supplier to place in Poland a portion of production of components for the helicopter. The tender will likely attract bids by Boeing, Airbus Helicopters and Agusta Westland, the daily wrote.
