Prominent politicians featured in controversial campaign
May 7, 2014
Poland's major trade union NSZZ "Solidarnosc" has launched a campaign targeted at discrediting politicians running for the European Parliament of all parties except for the main opposition Law and Justice (PiS).
"Solidarno¶æ" displayed 600 billboards with faces of well-known politicians, such as the former Finance Minister Jacek Rostowski, Labor Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz, and Minister of Culture Bogdan Zdrojewski presented as criminals and with negative comments.
Representatives of the trade unions officially say that the campaign is not targeted at concrete persons, but is aimed at promoting a website which shows how particular politician voted on important issues.
