Poland's unemployment in April likely declined to 13.0% from 13.5% in March and could fall below 12% in the summer months, Labor Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz said on Thursday.
"In April the unemployment rate fell to 13% and the number of unemployed declined by over 100,000 people," Kosiniak-Kamysz told reporters at the European Economic Congress in the southern city of Katowice.
The number of unemployed registered at the end of April amounted to 2.082 million, the official said.
"Job agencies had 174,000 fewer people on the register than a year ago," Kosiniak-Kamysz said.
"Employers reported around 100,000 vacancies to job agencies in April," he also said.
Unemployment is expected to fall further below 12% in the summer, he also said.
