The Polish government wants to curb excessive costs of loans granted by non-banking lenders by introducing a cap of total loan cost at 25% of the value of the loan and 30% of the value of the loan in annual terms, the daily Gazeta Wyborcza reported citing a document adopted by the government on Thursday.

The government also wants to limit the number of loans which can be granted by an entity to a single client and will require lending firms to be commercial law companies with at least PLN 200,000 capital.
