Utility Tauron is currently in talks over increased financing from the European Investment Bank and the firm could also pick up plans for a domestic bond issue after the summer holidays, deputy CEO Krzysztof Zawadzki told reporters.

"We are holding talks with the EIB," Zawadzki said. "The bank is mulling increasing exposure, at issue could be construction of a power block in Lagisza, southern Poland, as well as wind power projects."

The EIB is currently financing 20% of Tauron's projects i.e. PLN 1.267 billion.

"Means from the EIB is the cheapest form of financing, much more advantageous for us than for example a bond issue," the official added. "That is why we really want this cooperation."

Tauron may return to the question of a bond issue on the domestic market after the summer holidays, the official also said.
