Poland has the highest fees for internet access adjusted for purchasing power (pp) in the EU, the daily Dziennik Gazeta Prawna reported citing an EC-commissioned report 'Broadband Internet Access'.

For instance, the median pp-adjusted price of a 1Mb-2Mb internet connection amounts to EUR 81.3 in Poland compared to an EU-wide average of EUR 30, the daily wrote.

Higher price in Poland stems from, among others, the fee for maintaining infrastructure charged by Orange Polska telco as well as Netia, who leases Orange PL infrastructure, Audytel consultancy expert Grzegorz Bernatek said.
