Demand for loans on the rise

Polish banks saw their combined corporate loans portfolio grow by 6.4% year on year to PLN 287 billion in April after a 4.8% y/y growth recorded in March, in a continuation of the long-term growing trend, NBP's preliminary data showed.

Corporate deposits fell further, by over PLN 2 billion month on month to PLN 192.2 billion. The data indicate that enterprises are investing, economists said. Especially the rising demand for investment loans should be assessed positively, they said.
