Poland's ruling party Civic Platform (PO) stands big chances of winning the upcoming elections to the European Parliament, although repeating the result achieved in the previous EP election, when PO won 25 out of 50 seats, will be difficult, Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski told the paper Polska The Times.

PO and its chief rival main opposition Law and Justice (PiS) may win 19 seats each in the May 25 elections according to the latest simulation based on researchers' polls.

The distance between the two leading parties has not changed from the results showed by the simulation conducted a month earlier.

Leftist Democratic Left Alliance (SLD) may hope for seven seats and junior coalition Polish People’s Party (PSL) for three, unchanged from a month earlier.

Left-wing liberal Your Movement - Europa Plus movement would not get any seats, based on the simulation, down from three a month earlier, while right-wing party Nowa Prawica JKM may obtain three seats.
