Poland's ad market to expand up to 1.2pct this year - Starlink

Poland's ad market is expected to grow by 0.9-1.2% year on year in 2014 after it increased by 0.9% y/y in Q1 2014, media house Starlink said.

"A good start of the 2014 ad market spurs moderate optimism and allows us to forecast the annual growth rate of the ad market in the 0.9-1.2% range," Starlink director general Lidia Kacprzycka said.

"The collected data on the economic situation and optimistic moods among marketers allow us to suppose that the worst is behind us on the advertising market."

In Q1 2014 Poland's ad market grew by 0.9% to PLN 1.59 billion, with the TV ad market growing 4.7% to some PLN 823.8 million, internet ad market growing 5.9% and ratio up by 5.7%, the report showed. In-stream video advertising grew by 39.4% y/y. Declines were recorded by the press, cinema and outdoor segments, Starlink said.
