Warsaw Book Fair 2014 – not only for bookworms

Over 700 exhibitors from 23 countries are expected to take part in the fifth Warsaw Book Fair will to be held May 22-25 at the National Stadium in Warsaw.

Each of the four days of the event will focus on a different literary genre. On Thursday the visitors can expect many books and games for children. Friday will be dedicated to science, while for Saturday the organizers have planned a meeting with all past winners of the Ryszard Kapu¶ciński Award for literary reportage, a genre with a long tradition in Poland. Sunday at the fair will revolve around comic books. All guests can expect discounts on bestsellers and new publications.

Two countries – Turkey and Mexico will participate in the event for the first time. Turkish publishers will celebrate 600 years of Turkish-Polish diplomatic relations and Mexican exhibitors will honor the 100th birthday anniversary of their renowned poet and Noble Prize winner Octavio Paz.

Last year the event attracted over 60,000 visitors.
