Poland's Economy Ministry has filed a motion to the Foreign Ministry to appeal against EU's tobacco directive aimed at eliminating menthol cigarettes from the market.

Foreign Ministry is analyzing the motion, but a decision whether a complaint against the directive will be made will depend on the effect of inter-ministerial consultations and the final decision of the Council of Ministers.

Prospective losses for the Polish budget triggered by the directive are substantial, deputy PM and Economy Minister Janusz Piechocinski says.
