Banking sentiment indicator Pengab edges down in May

Poland's banking sentiment indicator Pengab edged down by 3 pts month on month to 27.2 pts in May, according to the Union of Polish Banks (ZBP) and market researcher TNS Polska.

The current indicator edged down by 2.8 pts m/m to 20.5 pts, while the forecast indicator fell by 3.3 pts to 33.8 pts.

Longer term, in a 6-month horizon, net expectations for housing loans are at 61%, down 11 pps m/m.

Forecasts for consumer loans increased 1 ppt to 70%. Forecasts for investment loans for businesses decreased by 1 ppt to 74%, and forecasts for working capital loans edged down by 1 ppt to 78%.
