Rafako to build 400m heat-and-power plant for ZAK chemicals
May 23, 2014
Engineering firm Rafako was picked by nitrogen works ZAK, a unit of large-cap chemicals group Azoty, as contractor of a heat-and-power plant for around PLN 400 million, PAP Polish news agency reported citing two independent sources.
"There is no formal decision yet but in practical terms Rafako was chosen as contractor of the heat-and-power plant," one source told PAP. "The value of the order will be around PLN 400 million."
The information was confirmed by another source close to the process.
ZAK collected bids from interested entities in the fall of 2013 and picked five potential companies for talks. Three companies were admitted to the final round of the process, according to PAP.
ZAK has previously said it wanted to build a 50 MWe and 250 MWt heat-and-power plant to cover 25% of its energy needs and 100% of its heat needs.
