Polish consumer sentiment improves for most indicators in May

Polish current consumer sentiment improved in most measures in May from levels seen in April, as only propensity to make major purchases declined, a monthly consumer sentiment survey by the Central Statistical Office (GUS) showed.

A synthetic measure of current confidence grew by 1.1 pts m/m to -17.0 pts in May, while the leading confidence indicator was up by 1.6 pts to -20.6 pts.

The job outlook indicator increased by 1.9 pts to -27.6 pts, while the major purchases indicator fell by 2.4 pts to -16 in May after a strong rise of 4.0 pts in April.
