Poland’s natural gas giant PGNiG plans to spend PLN 300 million on shale gas exploration capex in 2014, and plans to conduct ten shale gas vertical drillings this year, PGNiG deputy CEO Zbigniew Skrzypkiewicz said during a sitting of the parliamentary treasury committee.
Of the ten drillings, eight are planned in the North of the country and two in the South-East. On the basis of the gathered data PGNiG intends to conduct horizontal drillings and hydraulic fracturing in 2015.
The company should have more data on the prospects of shale gas extraction by end-2015, Skrzypkiewicz noted.
So far PGNiG gas conducted 12 vertical and two horizontal drillings.
