Tadeusz Jędrzejczyk appointed new head of National Health Fund
June 4, 2014
Prime Minister Donald Tusk appointed on Tuesday Tadeusz Jędrzejczyk the new President of the National Health Fund (NFZ), the institution responsible for distributing financing in the country’s health care system.
Jędrzejczyk’s candidacy had earlier been approved by the NFZ’s supervisory board.
Jędrzejczyk has been head of the Pomorskie regional branch of the NFZ since October 2013.
The previous head of NFZ was dismissed last December following a row over which patients are entitled to state-funded health care.
Marcin Pakulski was then acting president until February 28, when Wiesława Kłos took over. A competition for the permanent president of the fund was launched in early May.
